Mapping the Deadly Ebola Virus Outbreak

The UK's Channel 4 News has released an interactive map which charts the spread of the current outbreak of Ebola in West Africa. The map uses Knight Lab's StoryMapsJS narrative mapping platform to plot the spread of the deadly virus from rural Guinea to Lagos.

The Deadly Spread of Ebola map includes embedded videos of Channel 4 News reports about the current outbreak. The map also includes a breakdown on the number of people infected and the number of people who have died in the countries affected by the virus.

Al Jeezra has also released a map to chart where cases of Ebola have been reported. Mapping the World's Worst Ebola Epidemic uses data from the World Health Organization, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and Liberia's health ministry.

The map shows the number of reported cases and the number of deaths in regions of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. The map also highlights other countries which have suffered from Ebola outbreaks in the past.
